There are some guaranteed ways to increase your mood QUICK, thus causing you to be happy! These are very simple and are often forgotten!

The body is pumps a chemical called dopamine into the brain when performing basic activities – which sends a rewarding type of feeling to the body and brain – to reinforce behaviour needed to survive.

You can find that if you take a deep slow breath and exhale slowly, you will feel a slight relaxation despite how unnerved you may be.

Drinking water – the body likes 8 cups of water a day. the majority of people do not meet this daily need which results in headaches and anxiety among other issues of a body lacking in hydration. We also contribute to the flushing of water from our system by drinking caffeinated beverages, which in result, adds to dehydration.

Eating healthier foods – I’m sure everyone can relate to the feeling of eating too much fast food and junk food. Eating fruits and vegetables pack essential nutrients in maintaining a healthy body and a healthy mind.

Stretching/Exercising – Stretching & Exercising increases blood flow and relaxes your muscles, also providing a nice relaxation method. (See: Yoga!)

Practicing hygiene and grooming. A shower or a quick brushing I’d the teeth are nice ways to feel refreshed

Social interaction — When we don’t have anyone to socialize with on a regular basis, it takes a negative toll on our psyche. Staying socially active via chat/phone/texting/in person is a MUST to being happy.

Boredom — Pursuing things that interest us and hobbies keep our mind active. A bored mind is an unhappy mind.
